My daughter is just 12 and is starting to get little bumpy pimples on her forehead and nose. The hormone roller coaster has started and she'll need some good acne defense...any good recommendations?

I had this problem when I was young, and to be honest theres no treatments that work 100%.I tried every product under the sun,but they didn't work.
I get REALLY mad when I see these ads that say to young people they aren't valued members of society if they have spots. They can't get boyfriends/girlfriends cuz they lookl hideous, but buy their products and the spots will simply vanish!
Bull. Its part of growing up and CAN'T really be helped. Its NOT a disease, but if you steer away from fatty ( ie Mcdonalds ect ) foods, that can help. Also Omega 3 can be of use.
But its like you said. Its Hormones. They are the ones really to blame and we can't do much about it.
Oh,try avoiding perfumed soaps too.Good Luck

I suppose she also has oily skin, that is what usually causes acne. At her age, I recommend using plant based products created for her type of skin (if it's oily, they must have sebum control) which are usually sold in pharmacies. The more natural, the better. Also, it's important that the products don't have ingredients for aging control, those are meant for women over 25. Hope this helps, but you should consult a dermatologist.

Olay sensitive cleanser and Olay Complete moisturizer with SPF. for day use
a very gentle scrub-once a week-mix it with the cleanser-just a LITTLE bit of the scrub.
try Apricot Scrub St,Ives
pimples will go away with a morning and evening skin care regime

I highly recommend Avon's Clear Skin line. They have excellent products including cleansers, scrurbs and targeted solutions for teens and pre-teens. It's also inexpensive, so it's easy on the wallet.

Hi Mom, I can recommend a company called Arbonne that has some great skin care products. They have their Intelligence Line or for those that are having heavy break outs they have their Clear Advantage Line. You can check out their products in their online catalog at http://www.wonderful.myarbonne.com If you sign my guestbook and reference your daughters I can send you a sample for them to try. Good luck to you.

I recommend ProActiv. Maybe a little expensive, depending on how badly you need it/how much you make. But hey, it worked for me and I have been pimple-free for 3 years! (And I'm only 16!)

this is weird but tell her to scrub her face with baking soda and then wash it with an oil free face wash (neutrogina)...it keeps the face smooth and pimple free!
