It's my belief that a strong relationship doesn't need to be intimate as part of their daily ongoing lifestyle. Eventually the sex life becomes boring and then you question the relationship itself. There's a difference between just having sex and being intimate with your partner.
Have sex as often as possible whenever you feel comfortable having sex. If you and your partner enjoy having sex enjoy each ether's company then how often shouldn't be a question. All in all it depends upon how much both of you enjoy having sex as well as each ether's company.
Sexual active couples are the most happy ones in their own relationship. Nothing is taboo from either partner because they're open minded and agree as well as disagree to whatever is on each others mind.
This is the sign of a good and healthy relationship where intimacy isn't a problem. If you are one of these types of couples, yes by all means have sex as often as possible when it's possible. But also remember to mix things up by experimenting.
Not all couples have to be or for that matter need to be constantly sexually active just to keep the relationship going. Upon conclusion just do whatever makes you feel comfortable in the relationship before and after having sex. Intimacy should always come before sex in any relationship.

Sure but intimacy and sex are two very different things! You can definitely have one without having the other. Intimacy is more a closeness in the mind and (for lack of a better word) spirit than the physical body. Sex is just sex and doesn't necessarily require any intimacy at all. As far as how often it should be done, thats up to the couple, there are no rules about it. Peoples sex drives vary greatly and an individuals sex drive will have its ups and downs. The problem comes in when one person wants it more than the other, as long as you are both on the same page about it what is on the page really doesn't matter...if the two of you are happy with once a month or once a year and that works for you thats fine.

I have to say yes, it is very important to be intimate with your partner, on one level or another. And couples that are in serious relationships or marrige should have sex as often as they feel comfortable with it. Key word was, THEY....
