Half of the state senators didn't even read the constitution before they swore an oath to uphold it, which they are not doing. What ever happend to land of the free and home of the brave? All the biggest people in the government seem to want to decrease freedom and increase slavery and brainwashing.
Why don't people do more about it???

People don't do anything about it because they believe all the propaganda that's shown to them. They'd rather blame one person or party than the whole system. Most people don't even have the slightest idea what's going on other than what they hear on the news. We all know that's not always based on all the facts.

Congress doesn't know the Constitution because they don't care. It's about making money and getting position, not doing what they can for the American people. While everyone has been complaining about the cost of war, Congress passed a HUGE pay raise for themselves. Pay that they will receive for life. That is, unless they vote themselves another pay raise. Congress also doesn't pay into or receive Social Security. Why would they need to reform it?? They don't use it, so they don't care. Their benefits are the pay they make for life. They also don't care about health care....another thing provided to them. Do Amercians know that even the military has to pay for some health care?? Yes, it's true. Military has to pay dental insurance with much the same deduction as civilians. At some posts, the "free" medical care is so bad, they choose to be seen off post. TriCare covers it, but there is some out of pocket. It's even worse when you retire. Yet, this same Congress balks at giving military pay raises while Congress gets pay raises. Low ranking military with families can qualify for food stamps in many areas. See a pattern here??

Kerry is married to Heinz who produces much of her products in foreign countries. They can pay lower wages that way. He endorces more foreign trade while more Americans are losing their jobs. Cheney has interest in Halliburton. They're not the only ones. Their interest is big business and forget the American that keeps this country going. When elected to office, they should be forced to give up all major interests. If they're running a country, no matter what level, America should be their interest and not whatever business they have a hand in.

It's time for America to speak up. It's not about party and who you like or dislike. It's about taking America back for her people.

The Constitution is a fabulous and fascinating document. It's not hard to read. It was written almost 230 years ago when people were not all that sophisticated, but they could still read (most of them). It was read aloud in the town square after it was finalized so people could know what the government had done in that hot, stuffy room in Philadelphia during that sweaty summer of 1787. It was written in simple terms so people could read and understand it. Remember, the people had to ratify it before it could become the law of the land. They didn't at first until the Bill of Rights was added. That both of these documents became law at all in such a new nation is a miracle in itself. It could not happen today because the ACLU would get in the way at every turn...

Spirit walker says dems don't know the constitution.....thats funny...in a previous question he told us....

"There is NO such thing. The Second Amendment of the US Constitution prohibits the US gov. from forming a "state religion," such as exists in many Arab countries. Even Israel doesn't have a state religion."

Lets have a look at the second amendment shall we.....

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Where exactly does the church and state part come into play in the second?????

Somebody doesn't know the constitution very well....and he's not a democrat.....

for one, the constitution is a living document. One can read it very easily and "know" the basics of the constitution. But now, there are so many laws and interpretations about it through case law (U.S. Supreme Court decision) that parts of the the constitution no longer has the same meaning that the forefathers envisioned. Sure, the basis is still there, but alot of things have been added, and new stuff is added all the time.

This is a surprise to you? This has been going on for years. It's all about power, and getting into government gives you power. As far as I'm concerned, the swearing to uphold the constitution is a joke - they all swear to do it, and no one does. It's become symbolic, nothing more. There's no law that says you have to be well versed in the Constitution to be a politician.

The Constitution, plus the Declaration of Independence, should be required reading for a pre-college as well as a college education.

They are steadily endeavoring to dumb people down through media, programming, and wrong info, they even have gone so far as to ALTER HISTORY BOOKS to erase some things and replace them with how they want people to believe it happened, and only a few of us question it. People are no longer smart enough to WANT to check out what rights the Constitution actually gives us.

People do not read the constitution because it is not taught in pubolic school. There is too many teachers who do not know the Constitution. There are too many other special interest groups at work in schools. There are too many books purchased with bribe money reather than with education in mind.
