the statement I keep seeing on here about how Democrats love terrorists and support them whole-heartedly? I'm a Dem, and I don't love or support the terrorists. I'm honestly curious as to where this idea must have come from. And please, no flames. I would appreciate honest, factual answers here. Feel free to leave links to websites.

Splatt - you're right, I do. However, as far as the Patriot Act is concerned, there are a great many provisions that should not have been renewed, and not just the ones that weren't. Guess that's the liberal in me coming out.... :)

I'm a Dem too,
i would just like to add a point.
After 9/11 the president went before the people and said we were attacked because they hate our freedoms.
after 9/11 laws were enacted to curb freedom
whether warentless wiretapping or domestic spying
the supporters want to curb free speech and press
they want less freedoms they want to supress speech
and last
terrorist funciton on fear and hence terror, the republcian party wants you to stay scared they will throw mushroom cloud or WMD's in your face even if they know diffrent. We will always be at yellow alert never green never without fear......
if this is true, then instead of love terrorist which party is helping them reach thier goals?

It's a guilt trip tactic being used by nutcase economy killing conservatives. They try to guilt trip Dems into believing in their ways. And if you don't they try to use the "you hate America" guilt trip tactic to at least keep you quite.
Only problem is is that nobody buys that one anymore. In fact they tried using that routine to get people to keep quite about Iraq. Now polls show 56% of America thinks this war is a joke, a big mistake. That's an awful lot of Americans who hate America wouldn't you say. Dems are up in the polls 3 - 1. That's an awful lot of Americans who support Americans who hate America. See the point, nobody buys it anymore.
Here is a great example of the conservative republican tactic, read the quote below.
Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials
Sound familiar?
Now click on this link to see how America is fighting back, again nobody really buys that guilt trip tactic anymore.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuPiwm9IjiA

I assume that you agree that the Islamic terrorists are bad guys.
It seems that the Ds (at least their public spokes people) try to block any move by the Rs on how to catch the bad guys.
They gloated when provisions of the Patriot Act didn't get renewed.
They support the ACLU's efforts to turn illegal combatants into prisoners of war.
They call President Bush a liar about WMDs in Iraq, even though they said the same things about Saddam during the Clinton Administration.
They rail against 'rendition' even though it was initiated during the Clinton Administration and they didn't say a peep about it then.
The NY Times exposed two key elements in catching the bad guys and the Ds just say 'Right on, NYT'.
Is that enough?

Well, how about these facts:
The liberals on the supreme court rule that terrorists should be granted Geneva Convention protection
A liberal judge rules the wire-tapping of terrorists is unconstitutional and fails in her decision to point out why, other than charging that Bush is acting like a king
A left-wing liberal nutjob is defending Saddam Hussain
Liberal news media is still talking about Abu Graib, but we only saw about a day and half of sparce coverage of the mutilation and murder of the two American GI's (I guess they didn't get the benefit of the Geneva Convention after being captured)
J. Murtha smears our military by calling them rapists, murderers, and child killers
CNN allows itself to be led by the nose by Hezbollah representatives
Just a few for you to ponder

Right now the Dems have lost focus. They hate George Bush so much they are refusing to support anything he supports. This is dangerous but we have all seen this type of behavior before. Its just like when the pretty girl in high school runs for class president and she says a bunch of stuff you agree with but you do not vote for her because you are jealous of how pretty she is. This is the same thing. The Dems hate terrorists too, they just don't hate them as much as they hate George Bush.

"But now that we have decimated the country, the borders are open. Freedom Fighters from other countries are going in." - Cindy Sheehan
"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush" - Michael Moore
It's the loud fringe of the Democratic party calling Bush the Terrorist and referring to terrorists as freedom fighters.

Find the Congressional Record from 2001 to the present time and you can see examples of certain democratic
Senators making remarks about the war in Iraq and Osama bin Ladin.

And please don't think I buy into this, I am a Dem too and would love nothing better than getting the terrorists so they would never be able to attack us ever again.
