Man, you must really hate America. You're willing to throw away everything the revolutionists fought for, and everything we've fought for since then. Not to mention taking a dump on the Constitution.

President Bush could probably do it in the name of "national security" & claim that Congress gave him that authority when it gave him authority to use military force against Al Qaeda in 2001 (the same rationale the White House has used to justify warrant-less wiretaps and secret prisons.) Many members of Congress have taken exception to that interpretation of the 2001 resolution, but not enough of them for the President's actions to be seriously questioned or challenged so far.
Considering the willingness of some in the military to perform torture techniques on prisoners that violate the Geneva Convention, I'm guessing a good number of military personnel would buy into that rationale and accept a coup d'etat as a necessary measure for the security of the nation.
Scary. And no, I don't want it in the slightest.

That is a really frightening question, makes you sorta think we are living in a third-world country, now doesn't it? (Just the fact that someone would think to ask this). AND it would scare the hell out of me whether it was a Republican or Democrat run government! I think we can all agree this is truly non-partisan!

Absolutely not. The next step would be a dictatorship, and I know of no military members who are willing to throw away everything that they have fought for, and continue to defend, to support that way of life.

Your question is so stupid, it does not deserve any response whatsoever beyond me telling you that you are a glittering jewel of unimpeachable ignorance. I want the best government the Constitution proscribes. The only way to get that is to have the majority of members as Republicans because the Democrats have only their political interests at heart as opposed to the interests of the country.
