I worked during my last 2 pregnancies up until the day I went into labor and then went back to work 4 days later taking my baby with me. I was lucky that I had a great boss that allowed me to do that for the first few months each time.

Pretty much. I worked my full time office job and a part time night job almost my entire pregnancy. I had signs of labor a week before I had my daughter, so I quit the part time job then, since I was constantly on my feet working and I didn't want to cause any problems with the baby. I worked the full time job up until a day before I had my baby. I called in one day because I had things happening again, and I had that constant crampy feeling and back pain. That evening my water broke and I had my baby.

I have an office job and I worked up until 3 weeks before. I would have worked up til labor but I was given the opportunity to work at home for a while. My cousin worked till labor. She did fine. It gets pretty grueling towards the end but you will be ok if doc says its ok.

If you don't have any complications, you can try to work 'til you go in labor. But make sure there is someone from work that can drive you to the hospital right away. It's best to stay at home, and get some rest before the baby comes. You won't get any after birth!

I worked up until I was put on bedrest. I would have worked right up until labor started if I could have.
There is nothing wrong with working the whole time as long as you take it easy and do what the doctor advises.
Good luck and best wishes.

You can work until you go into labor as long as you are fine with it and your doctor doesn't have a problem with it. I believe this is the case with most pregnancies. I worked up until the last month, and the only reason I quit then was b/c I was put on bedrest :)

As long as you have clearance from your doctor, work up until you are no longer comfortable.
In the state of NJ you are entitled to 4 weeks prior to your due date to start your maternity leave thru the disability. I worked in a child care facility that required me on my feet all day and picking up and putting down children from 6 weeks to 18months old. I chose to take advantage of the state disability at the 4 week mark prior to my due date, as i was extremely tired from my job and not comfortable throughout the day.
Just speak with your doctor and figure out a plan of when will be best for your and your situation.
Best of luck!

I have an extreamly physical job. SO, I stopped working 2 months before my due date. I could have worked till a month before but with my history of delivering early I did not want to chance anything. I also go to stay home with my other child during his summer break from school. Go with your gut feeling. If you don't have a physical job and you are comfortable, then work work work! It's better than sitting at home stewing over "when's baby gonna get here!" Good luck!

everyone that has had a baby in my office has worked up to labor. One plans on leaving on her due date if she has not gone into labor. If your doctor thinks you should not work that long i'm sure he/she has a good reason.

i worked until i was 8 1/2 months my doc did not like it but i needed the money and i loved my job too! my co workers worked with me and helped me out, they wanted me there just as much. i sat down whenever possible and rested big time with my feet up when i got home! it all depends on how you feel, personally, everyone is different, i felt good that is why i did it. if i was in pain all day long and restless, than i would prob not have, i mean not every moment was perfect, i had my turns. and i loved to show off the cute clothers i got to wear and no body else did cuz i was pregnant! ha ha. good luck
