Do you smile as you pass someone walking down the street,etc.?

I ALWAYS hold the door open for strangers, let people go ahead of me while driving, etc...but people are so rude don't even take a second to say thanks. I think that I am a very nice person and considerate of others, but no one in todays society really cares if someone does a little nice gesture for them. What has happened to our society. Despite this, I will continue to hold doors open and smile to strangers.
So, if someone does a nice little thing for you today, take a second and say THANKS!!!!

Yes. I seem to have a face that a lot of people think they have met before. I also have children and since I am actually quite shy, encourage them to say "Hi" to everyone. I have been wrestling with this lately because a lot of other parents are so fearful of anybody they don't know they can't believe that I haven't scare the beegesus out of my kids over ALL strangers.
I tell my children that most people are afraid to say "Hi" first, so if you do it, you will usually get a good response.

Yes i am. I often wear my army uniform on the way to work, lunch, and on the way home. When I encounter people they smile, chat, and are generally friendly.
Whats weird is sometimes when I am in my civilian clothes I forget to change my personality. When I smile, chat, and respond in a friendly way people think I am crazy!

friendly only enough to do business and on the net. By the way, some foreign countries citizens don't smile.

Yes, I do. No matter what gender they are. I catch myself smiling at them. Sometimes I smile at them and they don't return the smile and that bothers me for a split second, then, on my way again.

Yes if they look friendly and approachable but there are some that you just don't want to say hi to especially if they look like a serial killer.

Yes, I try to always be considerate and smile. There are just way too many negative people out there.

depends on my mood, but mostly friendly ( which sometimes I wish I didn't coz some people strike up the weirdest conversations when encouraged)
