I saw a programme on Frank Sinatra and it said that it was the world's most recorded song but never gave any figures. Did anyone record it before Frank and who was the last person/group to do so.

I believe Sinatra was the first to record it. I also love the way Elvis Presley sings it!

I don't know how many, but my favorite is Sid Vicious singing it on the movie Sid&Nancy.
