For example, I had the chance to buy 3 apartment building in Southern California that I passed by on because I was concerned about being to highly levered, and all 3 doubled in value within 2.5 years. I left over 1 million on the table and obviously wish I had chosen differently.

Anyone out there who had a chance to get early on a company developing a new product but chose not to and then had that company/product go on to be huge?

It was in the 1970's and I was newly married.

I had saved (with my wife 32,000 dollars) we wanted to do something with it. I was watching Gold prices and they were at something like 30 dollars per ounce, the lowest ever, anyhow, in the 1970's computers were getting big, and they require gold, so I wanted to buy up 30K in Gold at 30 an Oz. Thats 1000 Oz of gold, around 1980 gold was looking like 1100 per ounce, to that would have made me about 1 million dollars.

My wife and I bought a car and truck instead of gold.

Many, many years ago, I had a chance to invest in the earliest version of the Sprint Communications Group. SLAP! Decided not to invest. I'm more than a little sorry now.

More recently though, I'm wishing someone had approached me about investing in a downloadable cellphone ringtones venture. :)
