I can sing at least 5 national anthems and hum along with at least 10 others. Most national anthems have something to recommend themselves for their own sakes, and I highly recommend listening to them.

Italy's and Brazil's are funny. Japan's is serene. Canada, Australia and New Zealand have semi-official national anthems (I think they still use "God Save the Queen" officially) that are fun to sing. Norway's sounds like "Deck the Halls". Greece's doesn't sound Greek. France, the UK and Germany's are quite famous. Austria's, Poland's, Mexico's, not so much. Spain's doesn't have words. India's is kind of dull. Israel's is passionate. After you listen to a bunch in a row, the one that sounds REALLY WEIRD is the USA's. A martial waltz?!

I'm in the process of arranging several for male quartets.

Here's a link to PowerMac, a synthesized barbershop quartet, singing the national anthems of Italy, the USA, and Japan and the semi-official anthem of Australia (along with a whole bunch of other stuff).

i'm no longer indignant or ticked off, yet i'm no longer detached both. It basically befell to me that it is yet in a distinct way each body is being lazy with song. the position's the creativity in it? Why change some lyrics and sing it in a diverse language? Why no longer basically create an completely NEW song that could have the aptitude to be basically as massive and patriotic contained in the destiny? If we bypass round replacing each thing from our heritage, it received't have an analogous meaning anymore. That song replaced into written in a particular time in our united states's heritage. it truly is going to mirror that aspect. Write a sparkling song. I also imagine having a Spanish anthem alienates all the different minorities. people know that English isn't our valid language, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is honestly our united states's unofficial one. it truly is wonderful to sing the song in different languages, yet i do not imagine it will be made into an valid bypass-for-broke backup anthem. exciting how this topic is largely going to further divide the persons of the country in spite of the reality that. lately, we are both thinking something or all hostile to it.

Don't we have enough useless information to contend with already?
After all most nationals of a country don't sing along to it at close of play do they?!

The percentage of people that have to. ie: International Bands used for football matches, Olympics, etc. Plus the percentage of people that are fanatical patriots, you know the type. As for me, I'd rather gargle on turpentine.

Curious, but don't want to learn them, anymore than I wanna learn their language. We're a very self-centered and lazy lil country, aren't we? LOL
