On the amended birth certificate how is it listed as to parents? I mean do they list both moms/dads and leave the other blank empty or what?

Only a few states allow two persons of the same gender to adopted children and list both people as legal parents.
Most list just one as the parent and then they have to get legal papers stating parental rights for the partner

It's kind of funny. At this time, in California, a gay couple can adopt together...however on the birth certificate one of you gets listed as the mother and the other the father. The birth certificate has never been changed to include same sex parents....so in the eyes of the LAW I am legally my son's mother because that's what it says on his birth certificate.....how funny is that?

Usually, one or the other actually does the adopting. Gays make great parents..caring, nurturing...all studies show that children of Gays adapt well to surroundings, do well in schools, etc. IN fact, studies indicate that these kids fare better than those from straight families. But, it just may be that adopted kids, in general, do very well, for they are wanted by the parents...not a surprise 'gift.'

Depends on the parents, but I'm sure now that birth certificates will have to be updated to allow spaces for same sex parents.
