I use to be an assistant to a OBGYN....Trust me when I say this........If you suspect a tampon stuck, you need to see your doctor immediately............We had a patient with the same problem, and she was ill when she came in.......Feverish, nausia, losing weight, looked really really bad..........Dr. examined the lady and she had not had her monthly for she thought 3-5 months!!!!!!!!!She was so close to having Toxic Shock (deadly) . Her treatment was to have a script for an antibiotic. (i'm sure more of a dosage than normal) Doctor told her that if this, and that occurs to go to the hospital....I left the room when he was giving more instructions..............She did have someone with her to help her...........She was so, so, sick!!!!. I did see her on her 6th month check up and she was fine (thank God)..Don't feel bad..This does happen from time to time to most women because of a short string, or whatever...Just get some help.
Good luck ( I won't go into the odor) we couldn't breathe!

This is not funny. I do this all the time. I forget it's in there. I asked my Dr about it once and she said the first sign is the smell. She said you will notice the smell within 8 to 10 hours. I would try to put in a finger and see if you can feel the end. If you don't feel anything and there is no smell, you are probably ok. Don't feel bad, I have done this so many times. I can't feel the tampon once it is in place. My Dr said she has at least 1-2 patients a week who come in with this problem. She just removes it. Once I had a string break off. That was no fun either.
Good luck.

Virginia is a state, not a body part...I assume you mean vagina (that's where your tampon should be inserted)...if you put one in, and didn't remove it then you can assume it's still in there...stick a finger or two up there and see if you can feel it...

It's not a good idea to leave one inserted indefinitely...bacteria can cause issues and become a serious health risk...if you are fairly sure the tampon is there and you are unable to remove it, go see your doctor...

I'm sure Virginia is big enough to spot any missing tampons a mile away.
And to answer the question, you try to use a mirror, and if that doesn't work, you may need to see a nurse

Like every other woman, use your fingers & feel around....you would know if it was there or not !!! But then again being stuck in your "virginia" might not be so much of a problem, if it was your VAGINA, you have an issue

Sorry for laughing at you, but thanks for the laugh. You said "virginia" instead of vagina. Virginia is for lovers... maybe they mean vagina is for lovers.
ANYwhoo.... get flexible and REALLY go deeply. Keep warm water and soap nearby to remain sterile and to clean up quickly.
It has been known to happen. If you can't find it, a doctor can and believe me, they have seen it all, so don't be shy. Put your health first.

Look in the neighboring states..Maryland, the Carolinas...you may be able to get a view into Virginia from there.

Contrary to popular myth you cannot lose a tampon in your vagina, it doesn't have anywhere to go..if you can't find it by the string, you need to feel around inside, if you don't feel it, it's not there!

Drive over to the great state and see if you happened to leave it there....gonna be kinda hard since you can't follow the string trail to it though......happy hunting!
