you will need to measure the entire header stud which will come in the box with instructions. you can install several different door sizes with this kit.you will need to cut the header stud to fit the size door and opening . this will have a place marked and pre scored where you should cut.after installation of the new pocket door you will need to sheetrock and plaster either the left or right side of the door on both sides of the wall. i have put 2 of these doors in and the real help was the included instructions. good luck

That's a tough one. If the wall is already up, you'll have to take the wall down to get the pocket door in. In any case, it will be better than average construction to make it happen.

The wall needs to be down to install the pocket door frame, and you need to make sure you have room from the jamb to the stud, depending on what size door you want to install. Feel free to email me if you have more questions.

You don't. You removed enough wall for the pocket door to fit and then finish or refinish the whole shooting match.
