You will have to wash all the walls, windows, thoroughly air the house out. If you have central air you can place deodorizing packets in the vents. Have all upholstered furniture and carpets cleaned as well as any clothing that were in the house when it was being exposed to smoke. Finally, I have found that white vinegar is a wonderful and cheap way to remove odors of all kinds. When my son smokes in my home I soak a rag in white vinegar, wave it around in the smoky rooms and it sucks up the smokey odors instantly. Placing small dishes filled with vinegar is another good thing to do. There are also special candles, I believe they are called Smoke Enders, which work extremely well. Look for them and I wish you good luck with the options I have described. They worked for me and I smoked for a long time. When I quit 3 yrs, ago I followed my own advice and now my home smells wonderful! GOOOOD Luck!

Either Greased Lightning or Mean Green should be used to clean the ceilings and walls...you can see the nicotine come off. Clean light fixtures
Remember these cleaners will strip paint if you leave them on for too long, so work in small areas.
Launder all the drapes.
Replace any mini-blinds with new ones.
If possible, put the furniture in the sun. Then spray each mattress and peice of upholstered furniture with a fabric freshner.
Steam clean carpets.
Wash down ceiling fans.

You'll have to clean all the carpets, and sofas with like a rug doctor or something. Wash all the curtians and fabric type things. Wipe down all the walls with a light water/bleach mixture. Then you can make a spray from two parts water one part vodka, cheap vodka is ok, for some reason that is good for smells. Oh yeah and change the filters in your heat and AC

Ever see the inside of a car windshield of a smoker. That thick layer of goober is actually all over the house. For starters, get rid of anything cloth and trash it or have it cleaned. Then, wash and paint the walls and ceiling and also have the carpeting shampoo'd or wash the floor if it is tile, laminate, hardwood, etc.

Wash absolutely everything you can, fabrics, walls, ceiling, etc.
Paint everything since the walls and ceilings have probably faded due to the layer of nicotine on them. Get some febreeze and spray it everywhere. You can also get one of those new Airwick air deoderizers.
Make a new rule, no more smoking in the house!

Its hard to get rid of the cigarette smell in your house after all these years of smoking in it.Its probably soaked in your walls, curtains and furniture.Best would be to try washing everything and airing out the house as often as possible.Get one of those things that you plug in that release nice scents..and try smoking less in the house!

Febreze for the fabrics, and Ozium for the air - replace anything that still smells after that if you can.
Ozium can kill the smell of "other" smoke in a car that has fishbowled... it can help you.
