I've been thinking about what it must be like for other parents to go through. Is it bittersweet or sweet or just bitter for you?

Yes. And there is bird sh!t everywhere. Note to self--turkeys are not an acceptable household pet.

Not recently, but I can tell you there is an actual behavior that can be attributed to an Empty Nest reaction and it's nothing to joke about. You know with your head that kids growing up and leaving home is a natural and healthy thing, but when it happens, . . . I'll bet there have been books written about this. I'm going to check it out. Thanks for bringing it up. It is definitely bittersweet for me.

My twins are away at University and I have no other kids! I miss them, they have been my life! It is bittersweet! I have time to read and less house work to do!
