Some older motherboards will not accept 1GB. At startup, check for the BIOS setup and see if there is anything that needs to be changed.

Trouble shoot this in a logical manner.
First, remove the RAM you installed, reinstall your old RAM as may be necessary, and reboot the computer and see if the blue screen persists.
If the blue screen goes away it might be caused by the RAM for one reason or another.
If it stays, it's most probably not the RAM.
Did you check your mother board capabilities before you bought the 1G of RAM. I assume it's 1G on a single RAM stick.
Many older PC's simply won't accept that much RAM in a single slot. The manual that came with your PC should tell the capabilities of your MoBo. Each RAM slot has its' limitations regarding how much RAM can be installed. e.g. my older, backup PC has 3 RAM slots, but will only handle 256K in each slot.
Good luck.

may be one of following causes:
1. RAM is low quality or not properly working...
2. U r using pirated windows version
3. Any of device may not configured well or damaged
4. Trojan Virus is dancing in your computer haha...
change the RAM, I think work with new and latest windows, not beta or cracked version

Try putting ram sticks in different slot variations. 1st & 2nd, 1st & 3rd etc. This worked for me when I upgraded to 2GB on mine.
