I've had the Mirena IUD for four years now. I absolutely LOVE it! I also have never had a child and was not deterred from using it. The insertion hurt quite a bit and I had three days of cramps afterwards. But then all was well. You can't feel the strings, you can't feel it inside of you, you don't have to worry about taking a pill every day or getting a shot in your butt every three months and NO, I have no problems using tampons! In fact, I rarely have to use anything because my period is so light. An IUD is just as effective as having your tubes tied. I would recommend it to everyone!!

I even have one(an IUD) and that i presumed the comparable element as quickly as I first have been given one, I wasnt happy with it in the initiating, yet i don't get any loopy discharge like a miscarriage or something, so i'm partial to them, yet i attempt to no longer rather think of approximately it considering that's comparable. If there have been discharge that appeared, um, adverse i assume, then i does no longer have one, yet there is not any longer something of that kind.... an IUD does no longer preclude implantation, it does not enable something connect with the uterus with the aid of rritation. So despite became started gets terminated....

Ok i have been using it for about a year now and i hate it. I mean its good if you want to go long periods of time with no children. But i get real irritated with it i cant stand things like that inside me and it makes it almost impossible to wear a tampon so if that is what you use i would suggest something else. Now you may have to check with your dr but most wont even give that to u unless you have already had one child. And IUD can cause damage and may make you infertile. Thats why i had two kids before i got mine so now if something happens and i cant have anymore kids then i still have two. But i would really just research everything and see what will work best for you but if you get agitated like i do with things up there i wouldnt recommend it.

Ive had mine for 3 years and LOVE IT.
yes you do have side efecets like all birth control. The IUD (paraguard) has been around for many years and has been perfected since then.
The side effects I had was spotting esp after sex within the 1st 3 months of insertion I had mine inserted at 4 weeks post partum which is a higher chance of it coming out but it didnt. Yes you can use tampons depending on if it was inserted properly
I have since not had a period even though I go thru pms and the discharge but chust no period. Yes they arent sure as to how it wrks but it does wrk.
I highly recomend it to ppl and as a matter of fact since ive gotten mine Ive had 5 family members use it to and they havent had any issues with it but look them up online and talk to your GYN about it the two out there is
Paraguard 10 years and hormone free might increse blood flow during your period and may increse ur cramps but after a while your period might disapear
Mirena 5 years and hormones but the hormones are localized and dont get in your blood stream (big plus 4 me I cant use hormones). You may see decrease in blood flow during the time of month and also less cramping and chances of not getting aperiod is greater than with Paraguard. (I dont get a period)
Requierements are to have had atleast 1 child as it may cause damage and you may become sterile during removal. You must have 1 sex partener bc if you do get an infection its harder to treat but I highly recomend it

Please consider another method. There are a long list of side effects that go along with IUDs - none of them are fun.
Sure, you're going to find advocates for it, but for the most part, you're probably going to find twice as many people who will say don't do it. I'm among them. I had HORRIBLE side effects - and yes I'd had a baby already. After 5 months, I needed to have it removed because it had perforated my uterus and helped to perpetuate PID.
As a final thing to think on, do you REALLY want to rely on a BC method that scientists freely admit to not having a clue how it works?!

Had one and the insurance wouldn't pay for it and it came out and to have it put back in it almost cost just as much. Just get fixed.

I didn't think they were a popular option these days...I don't know anyone that uses them...I'm a fan of Depo Provera, but it seems a lot of women don't have real positive experiences with it...
