Center - Football (NFL)
Catcher - Baseball (MLB), Softball
Goalie - Hockey, Soccer
Guard - Basketball

There are a lot of sports with different positions that all have their own unique attributes. Some may be harder to play than others from a physical standpoint and others from a mental standpoint. This is a tough question to answer without being more specific.

Toughie, I have to go with Baseball catcher or Football (American) Center. Both positions have multiple tasks to accomplish.

Catcher has to call the game for the pitcher and play defense every single play, contorl the opposing teams running game and is one of the few positions in baseball that runs the risk of serious physical contact in collisions at the plate. Then add the fact that in today's more offensive oriented game you don't find one dimensional defensive specialists at cathcer like you used to and it's a helluva skill set.

Center in football had to snap the ball every play (60 70 times per game) while immeidately getting hit by a 300+ pound behemoth. Once he succesfully gets the ball to the quaterback he's got to then complete his blocking assignment whther it's drive the usually larger defensive lineman to help create a hole for the running game, or hold him up to protect the passer. Add to this the fact that many centers are the captain of the 'O' line and they are responsible for calling out blocking scheme changes and making sure blitzes are picked up and it's an intellectually challenging position too.

Ultimately I think I have to go with Center as the continual pounding while simultaneously trying to complete his prinary task just impresses me to no end.

defence - once you let something go - you will be accused and its hardest to gain anything from that point but if you save your team noone will care
people remeber the one who score not the one who save.
