Why would you want to fight someone? Think about the consequences. Is she worth a suspension? Is she worth a possible court appearance for assault?
She may be looking to get you into trouble. You can speak to her and tell her you don't appreciate that she spreads gossip.
If it really bothers you (and you are still in school), ask a teacher, guidance counselor or principal to help you with this.
Be the stronger person and take the high road.

Why would you waste your time fighting someone over trivial thing that she said. I think you need to be okay with not everybody liking you. However, if she continues to spread rumors or lies and you are absolutely sure its her, than you should confront her about it - preferably without using your hands !
