Just wondered about this one when answering a question about the iraq'i currency being realy delaapitated against the u.s dollar scince the u.s invasion of iraq.

America is stocking piling nearly all of their Texas and louisana Oil supplies. Also much of the Gulf oil rigs are shut down for the same reason.
Our government pays or rewards oil com[panies with places like Iraqi oil to cap our own wells.

i'm not sure, but, if oil in the mid east ever does run out i think the US will make quite a bit from oil in alaska and the new supply they just discovered in the gulf of mexico. i kind of whish oil would just go away.

We have about 57 days of supply stored in salt domes in Louisiana (more or less). That's about 600-700 million barrels.

U.S. Seems to have stocks of imported petrolum products as well as natural reserve with they are yet to use. its huge.
similiar is the huge wealth of fresh water .. it is seen as one big and huge resource.. one reason why US senate is not willing to share its land with immigrants.. watch out..
