It is usually broken the first time you have sex, but can be broken without knowing by using tampons, by riding a bike or horse, or by doing excercise. It is a myth that not having a hymen means you are not a virgin. Virgins are people who have never had penetrative sex, regardless of the hymen being there or not.

BH is right, but i would tell u what i know, it a thin piece of flesh that is at the opening of ur vagina and this usually bursts and bleeds a little when u have sex for the first time but with some people it bursts if they wear tampons or exercise or ride bikes or if anything has been inserted in there like a finger! some doctors or whoever, your boyfriend maybe can tel if ur a virgin if this hymen is still in contact...
