Hi I was wondering if I'm normal. If there is such a thing haha! I am a woman by the way. 21yrs old. Let me know what you think:

I don't buy beauty products(to be more beautiful or something) or obsess over how I look or how much I weigh and what I eat, I really don't care because I'm healthy and beautiful in my own way. I don't hear the things I want to hear and block out things I don't want to hear. I hear and listen to everything the person is saying pleasant or not.

Several years ago in highschool, the leaders in a youth group did a study and gave all the girls magazines and every one of them but me picked out beauty products to make them more beautiful. I picked out a vaccuum cleaner to see if it'll clean the house better.

I save my money and don't blow off my paycheck or the money my family gave me as a gift in one day or on unimportant stuff.

What ya think? Am I normal? I mean I'm not sloppy or anything I take care of myself though.

Who can say what "normal" is, You're intelligent, healthy, happy, productive, and seem to have a good self-image. You seem like someone I'd be happy to know.

I'll sleep better tonight knowing there is actually a girl out there like you. I had no idea women like you existed...and you may be the only one of your kind.

I'm 22, too, and I have to wait 2-hours minimum for my girlfriend to get ready to go to friggin' Burger King. I don't even wear a shirt when I go. I wish women didn't care so much about beauty products and their appearance. I think most chicks are hottest without any make-up on.

And it's terrific that you don't care what the hell people think...because it really doesn't matter. I realized a long time ago that although the majority of the population has made an opinion about me, at the same time the majority of the population isn't smart enough to set the time on their VCR. They're all retarded. Let'em think what they want.

Everyone tries so hard to be "original". The end result of this is that now everyone in our generation is "unique...just like everyone else". (Note the irony). At this point, the best way to be unique is to be completely normal. I am the only 22 year old I know that only wears khakis or plain jeans, a plain white T-shirt or plain white dress-shirt, and old man loafers (aka "deck shoes"). This is all I wear. I have no "brand name" crap or stuff with logo's on it. No sandals. No nothin'. And because I'm so "normal", I stand out.

You sound like the ideal woman.

I think youre a true realist (like myself) and not swayed by society's impression of how women should be.

I dont know. I have wondered the same about myself. Now, I am 28 and there are times when I DO want to put on makeup, but Im really really not a girly girl type, and I would have picked out a mop from the mags. (Actually, as we speak, Im really trying to resist that microfibre mop by euro clean that's like $40 CAD, I did have it at one point, but took it back when I found a cheaper one.. and DAMN, the cheap one broke and NEVER compared to the euro clean mop!)

anyways, yeah. Im the same way and I think it's just not being a sheep, following society's ways and trying to impress men.

You sound normal to me. Obsessing over beauty is a waste of precious time and money. You will be one step ahead of everybody as you focus your thoughts and money on important issues while others are worrying about unimportant issues of beauty.

If every women was as clear headed when it comes to life as you seem to be, there wouldn't be eating disorders or other negative aspects of beauty.

You may not be 'normal' but being 'normal' now a days is NOT a good thing.

Don't ever change.

ur perfectly normal...

just cause u dont wanna put money into products that "make u beautiful"

you have just realized something at a young age that many people dont get ever...or find out late in life....

u are beautiful without all those things..

my question to you is... is it ur fault that u are comfortable enough in ur own skin to walk around without the products?

No you are a leader. You don't do things in haste nor do you do things because you want to belong.
Sounds to me like you're quite secure in all that you do. Sometimes we just like to hear what others are thinking although it really wouldn't change who we are or what we do.
