I had my first u/s with my twins at 10 wk. because there was no heart beat on the doppler. they were moving around just fine and couldnt see any cardia movement. thats because they are just TOO small to see it. Which in your case at 6 weeks is most likely the same reason. So i wouldnt worry but, make sure to look for the signs of miscarriage as should ANY expectant mother.

Heartbeats can be detected between 5-7 weeks, depending on factors such as the sensitivity of the ultrasound machine. So not seeing a heartbeat at 6 week is normal. Try to think positive.

With my first son, they did an ultrasound at about 6 weeks and didn't see a heart, either. They didn't even see a "fetal pole," as they called it. I had another one a week later and there he was--beating heart and all! Sometimes the due dates are off, so maybe you're not really 6 weeks along. As for the bloodwork, I don't know. They didn't do bloodwork in conjunction with the ultrasound.

i had an ultrasound also today..... they told me i am 6 weeks 5 days and i actually saw the heartbeat, this is my 5th pregnancy tho, so i know what it looks like.
one of my pregnancies ended in miscarriage, the dr said the heartbeat was irregular at first u/s but he didnt tell me until after i miscarried, said he was afraid it would happened, but hoped it would correct itself .....
personally i havent heard of a viable pregnancy with no cardiac activity, but they are the experts, so i would listen to them and perhaps you and the baby will be just fine

With all 4 of our children, the heartbeat seemed to be able to be heard only after about 2 months. Just because you don't hear a heart beat doesn't mean your going to miscarry.
I hope it goes well for you.

Don't give up hope. Sometimes 6 weeks is too early. You may go back in 2 weeks and have a heart beat. Good luck and I hope that the heartbeat shows up for you.

Some babies heartbeats arent strong enough to hear @ that first 6 week ultrasoud. So I wouldnt be worried if the doctor wasnt worried. Remember, stress is BAD! (Im 8 months pregnant)

Can they hear fetal heart tone with a doppler? I unforunately would think if htey cannot see cardiac activity on the monitor they would've tried to listen to them. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, hope things work out.
