I could be really sarcastic because I'm a Yankee fan but actually, my opinion has been that the Mets are more of a working class team and the Yankees are seen as more "elite"- same with their fans.

Yankees fans watch their teams raise a trophy more than ever 20 years.
Not to mention... Yankees fans had a reason to cheer during the Subway Series.

Not much Im a yankees fan but i will go to a mets game(i have to get the tickets for free) We as fans of the mets & yanks need to band together and crap on the red sux. Whos with me!!

I'm a Mets fan I am not obnoxious. Some Mets fans are obnoxious though I wont lie. But all yankees fans are obnoxious. I mean like 26 world championships up your *** ***** obnoxious too. I live in New York so I know yankees fans

yankees have class and take things a little too seriously sometimes, but that makes it that much more fun when they do have fun... mets fans are just about having fun which is also pure baseball. bottom line, they are both peas in a big pod and a big money market, and I look forward to seeing another subway series as a fan of both but a true yankees fan : )

I was at the Subway Series 2000- the Yankee fans spent the whole game cheering for the Yankees, while the Met fans just screamed Yankees suck. BTW, this game was in Shea stadium, yet there were more Yankee fans in attendance.

Yankee fans have always been Yankee fans. Met fans were either Brooklyn Dodgers fans or New York Giant fans. When the Dodgers and Giants moved the the left coast in the late 50's they had no one to root for. When the Mets arrived in 1962 they finally and a team back in town that they could follow and cheer for.

Well, I think one difference is that the Mets fans hope their team will win, while the Yankees fans just expect that they'll win.

Yankee fans are arrogant. They only cheer for the Yankees when they are winning, but quietly disappear when their team begins losing. Mets fans, on the other hand, stick by their team whether they win or lose.
