Briefly developed a bad fireball habit. :-)

Within a year of quitting my pack a day habit in my mid-thirties, I was able to commute to work on my bike 30 miles a day and dropped 40 pounds. Have not a smoke since in 5 years.

For roughly the first year I had to avoid situations where smoking in a casual environment was too conveniant. That was a challenge more of breaking a habit then a nicotine desire. Now the habit and desire are gone and I can go anywhere without feeling the need. Feels pretty damn good.

Keep up the good work. I never personally have been addicted to smoking but I've seen other friends and family members go through quitting. They are doing well. Some have been nicotine free for 10+years.

I quit "cold turkey" and the first few days were somewhat of a nightmare. After that, it's all in your head and you just have to be strong. It's been about two years now and just the smell completely disgusts me - I can't believe that I was ever a smoker. Good luck!!

Although I have never smoked. It's nice to see people who actually know what they are doing to their body and quit.
Keep up the great work! =)))
