One way to start is to find out where they are going for their honeymoon. That gives you a start for a theme.

Items you can add: You can start with a picnic basket, scented candles, monogram towels, champagne, glasses, heart shaped candy, tickets to a nice event can be put in a pretty wedding picture frame that they can use for one of their best pictures, nice lotions and bubble bath, a bath pillow, matching robes and house shoes, gift certificates for a massage (especially if you can find out the hotel they will be staying at.

Artificial rose petals, gift certificates for a nearby restaurant where they will be going, a real nice romantic CD, or cassette tape. If it is cold, you can add some hot chocolate, flavored coffee or tea, coffee mugs with a cute message on them, a romantic poem written by you.

If they are spiritual, you could add a nice devotional journal to read together and write down their thoughts, a bible, (the bible bookstore has a lot of very nice gift ideas) etc...

It would be nice to add just a little something that will make them laugh. A little laughter makes for a sweet overall good time when going through the gift basket. You can use their personalities when thinking about what to buy. If they are shy, you can perk them up a bit, and if they are a little wild, you can add to it or help tone them down. (smile)

Much success to the happy couple.

Are you asking what to INCLUDE in a basket? Or how to actually create the basket itself?

Luckily, I have ideas for both!

First of all, if I was doing a "wedding night" basket, I would get a cute, but still sexy and still comfy, nightie for her and some boxers for him. You may even be able to get matching stuff on line. I honestly think Target has cute ones if you're budget conscious.

I would get bath stuff like salts and bubble bath...and I would try to be careful that the scent was at least SORT OF gender neutral. You know, no terribly flowery stuff, since it's for both of them. I would include a couple of DVDs, like maybe "When Harry Met Sally" or another romantic type of thing or two. I'd put a bottle of champagne in it...or some other nice wine that you like or know they like, and a couple of glasses of course.

Keep with the theme...since you know the couple, you probably know more about what they'd like. Maybe matching bedroom slippers. Maybe your comfortable being more risque with them, so massage oils or naughty toys would be okay.

As far as the basket goes, do you know how to knit? You can knit something with REAL wool (Brown Sheep works great) big and loose and then put it in the washing machine to felt it.

I would kill for 2 really great tickets to my team's game if they are going to be playing anywhere close by. Or how about comedy tickets or concert tickets? Good seats are NOT cheap & something most people can't do very frequently. You can include a limo too with all the bells & whistles. Or you could buy them a piece of art that may increase in value over the years.

My sister-in-law gave me some of the food from my wedding and some of our cake too, it was so great to enjoy that later when we were alone! Include a bottle of wine or sparkling grape juice!

What a nice thought and what a nce friend you are!

Put things in the basket that accomodate the couple. If they are going to be some place warm put sunscreen, sunglasses, a map of the area stuff like that.

Well I would fill the basket with stuff my fiend liked, or stuff my friend could use on her honey moon. But that is just my opion you do what ever you feel. Or I would feel it with somthing really special that me and my friend share.
