Sorry this happened. File for unemployment. Get your resume professionally done, I have used www.aandaresume.com and like them very much. Submit your resume to as many job boards as possible. Then start searching the job boards and newspapers for employment. If you are in a field where you know allot of people in the same work area, ask around for guidance or "if they know of anything open." Depending on what you do, it may take some time to find new work. If you are desperate for money, you can always work in temp jobs or as a waiter/waitress depending on skills and physical abilities.

Good Luck

Depending on how long you worked there you can file for unemployement but thats only like half of what you normal make. The only other thing to do is start looking for another job. Unless you think you was fired for no good reason then you can file a law suit against them.

Focus on making your resume up to date, Start networking with friends and family to find out if they know of any job openings. Examine why your last job did not work for you and avoid applying for jobs that are similar to that.
If you are not required to make a lot of money, to take care of a family for example, go ahead and take some risks and go for a job that really fits your personality regardless of the pay. You will be happier and the money will come.

First, go over what you were doing and try to find out if there was something you were doing wrong. Look for another job, any job, and try to perform your job so that your boss looks good. Try to find something that is fun to do and what ever you do, try to do your best and make it fun ... then it won't really be a job and you will be getting paid for what you like to do. Don't wait to be told ... take charge and seek responsibility. Good Luck!

Get a resume and send it out to ads in papers and online sites. Figure 1 month at least till you get a bite. The more you send out the better chance of a good job.

Start with checking the newspapers and internet for jobs. Also, ask around if any of your family or friends know of a job or could possibly put in a good word for you.

Talk to unemployment. They want to help you find a job. They'll help you figure out what skills you have to offer. They'll help you write a resume. They'll coach you on good interviewing techniques. And they may have an online service that will notify you when jobs matching your qualifications are listed.

Also, once you have a resume, post it on monster.com and similar sites.
