It’s amazing to think how the Earth from being so inhospitable to life became such an organized, civilized and nice place to live at. We established countries so we can live a better life: secure, bountiful and free. We have the responsibility for it, for our countrymen and everything in it. Very noble indeed, but is it right to just limit our minds within the frontiers of our own country? Why not instead of just caring for your countrymen, care for everyone?
Many countries already took initiative in making this dream come true. One very good example is the UNITED NATIONS which aims at facilitating co-operation in international law, international security, economic development, and social equity. .......................

However, no matter how much we strive to achieve those goals, there is still the fact that most of the countries still belong to the “Third World”. Why? Very simple, because oftentimes we give efforts to help others overseas but we don’t give a hint that we intend to do more than just “give”. This reminds me of a quote from Lao Tzu, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". The global community should focus on helping the countries in need to improve their quality of life on a long term basis and really act on it.
Definitely, this idea is too ambitious and will take allot of effort to take place. But if people, especially those who are in power give emphasis to this issue, slowly the world will cease to be a place where a few dominates, but a place where people share the same set of mind, that we have a responsibility for everyone and that we’re all just living in one place.
