Water continues to trickle into the bowl (only on the front side) long after the flush process finishes. I have replaced the crapper flapper and the tank does not cycle more water at any point. Most of the time the trickling stops, but at various intervals from a few minutes to an hour.

Even though you've replace the flapper, the neck that it seals against may have some defect... cracked, not even, etc. that is allowing water to seep between it and the flapper. You might try running your finger along the top of the rim and feel for any such issues. It could also be as simple as a build-up of 'slime' that is preventing a good tight seal. Wipe it off with a paper towel.

I have serveral guesses.

The first is that the flapper valve at the bottom of the tank is not closing properly. Try holding it down with your hand and see if the trickling stops. You said that you replaced it, so it's probably not that.

Alternately, see if the water level is above the overflow pipe. If it is, that would be where your trickling is coming from. The bobber never reaches a high enough level to shut off the water valve because the overflow water is going down the overflow pipe. It can be fixed by lowering the level the bobber needs to reach before the water turns off.

Another possibility is that the shut off valve connected to the bobber is not working properly. I had that happen to my toilet a year ago. Raising the bobber lever didn't help because even when it was all the way up, water still ran. Fixing it involved replacing the valve assembly itself.

Hope this helps.

Check the float level in the tank, it may be set too high to allow complete shut-off. Watch it flush with the lid off the tank. If it tries to shut off at the correct level, but then still trickles some water into the tank, your ballcock valve is bad and should be replaced. By the way, sounds like the water you see going into the bowl is from the overflow tube inside the tank.

check the rubber flapper on the bottom of the tank if it is disfigured or if the chain is too tight adjust the chain and or change the flapper.

adjust the ballcock

Check for excessive water pressure or fluctuating pressure to the homes plumbing, over 60 lbs will sometimes keep toilets running or popping on and off, adjust pressure regulator to 60 lbs. you might need a new pressure regulator if you cannot adjust.

you might need to replace the ballcock if it wont adjust and may be defective.

Clean the ball flapper and the rim of the valve. Then put a small amount of waterproof (silicon) grease around the rim.
