you are so right... if it was school, then no one would be here... lol.
We are all here (OK, most of us) to ask questions and get a good answer, not to be graded.

For me it's not so much misspelled words as it is horrible grammar. There are times when I have no idea what is being asked because the person is so illiterate. It's as if these people never stop to actually read what they typed. On a site where you're trying to get answers to your questions it's important to make sense so people can answer you.

Also, there is a SPELL CHECK built in to this site. It's only ONE CLICK away. How hard is it really?

If you misspell a word or two when submitting an answer, I don't understand the big deal, you in a rush to get your answer in fast. But if you are posting a question, there is no huge rush, so take your time and use spell check. I don't mind a misspelled word here or there... but if every other word is misspelled, it can get quite annoying.

It's one thing if you make one little typo. It's another thing if you never learned to spell common words. Even worse is when people mean one thing but can't spell, so they write down another word. It confuses the reader.

If you want to misspell things, that's fine, but don't expect the readers to enjoy your questions or think you're smart.

You don't have to be in school to be spelling words correctly or to use complete sentences. Try going out into the real world still writing gibberish. You won't be able to find work, and intelligent people will avoid you.

How many times must this question be asked to get the point across? Use the spell check and prove to others that there is a degree of intellect there. Otherwise, questions and responses showing disregard to appropriate grammar and spelling reveal more than what lies at the surface.

It is probably a great tension releaser to attack other people for their mistakes when people don't feel so good about themselves.

My own personal rule on Yahoo is to leave it alone if I can comprehend what the person is saying, but comment on it if it is unintelligible.

However, I keep the e-mail addresses of the newswires in my favorites folder as professionals should not make so many errors.

Feel special becuase the care about you enough to try to correct you. And as Sancho Panza said in Don Quixote de la Mancha, as long as the dogs bark that means I'm walking.. continue your venture keep on keeping on. In other words don't worry about what other say. You are special:-)

We are communicating by spelling here. If it's badly mispelled, it's hard to read and to tell what you mean. If it's just a typo, it's no big deal.

i agree it is pathetic, not everybody is good at spellin for whateva reasons, i sometimes slip up cause of the abbreviations i make when texting and it becomes a habit... for some people it is not their fault that they cannot spell and people who critizise this i think are very small minded.
