People who defend smoking pot are not in touch with reality. They prefer to keep their heads in the sand so they can get high and still feel "safe".
Let me tell you about the people I went to school with back in the 70's. Pot then as now is not always just pot. Pot is cultivated and there for exposed to pesticides and herbicides that are not approved for use in most countries(web search paraquat). These chemicals can cause long term and short term permanent memory loss and decreased brain function. Brain impairment is mostly irreversible. Also other drugs are added to "weed" to increase it's addictive qualities and add to it's "gateway" status. LSD, heroin, crack, ice, etc can be sprayed on or mixed in to increase effect, and open the doors to other drug addictions. Web search "Mexican Mix".
The people I went to school with ended up burned out drop outs. No education no decent job no lasting relationships, failed marriages, and mental illness. And now in our 40's & 50' & 60's battling frustrating and dangerous memory problems.
Sure you can get high and waste the day away. Or you can LIVE your life in a possitive way. It is your choice after all.
BTW most of these people no longer do illegal drugs. And most of them only did them for 1 - 7 years. But the damage is forever.

Pot is not addictive. I'm sure it can cause cancer to the lungs, but have not seen anything about it. The way I see it you get ten people in a room that is heavily drunk and you get ten people in a room that has done nothing but smoke pot which room do you think will end up in a fight first.
I am not a highschool dropout. I have a college education. As long as you don't do it every single day and once in a while then I think it is o.k.

Well, they have found that although there are many medical uses of cannabis....the worst way to ingest it is to smoke it.....the damage to your lungs exceeds the damage caused by cigarette smoking by quite a bit....they also call it a gateway drug and I think that is more because someone with a dependent personality will always look for something OUTSIDE of themselves to deal with life situations they have no solution for.....but the worst thing i have read (and seen evidence of) is jthat continued usage of marijuana alters your DNA....the late 60's and the 70's were the heyday of the users, and so many of them have children that were born with weird syndromes....not things that have been around for ages and they are now giving a name to, but NEW odd abnormalities in children....these 'children are now in their 40's, and THEIR children have weird stuff going on. It isn't all our American diets! There are some alterations that cause excessive bleeding (NOT hemophilia), and have you known an 18-20 yr. ols who dropped dead of a heart attack after normal exercise? 6 that I know of....and they were apparently healthy but autopsies showed anomalies in the structure of the ventricle walls....or something like that! the parents in each case were part of that band of old friends who would have been considered 'hippies' back then and certainly were among those who used (and still do ....upstanding citizens tho they may be) a great deal of marujuana ....so it is just safer not to....i am sure there will come a time when the benefits of cannabis will be freely accepted and used by the medical community ....until that time the young especially are at risk for some changes they may not want to deal with down the road.

Yeah. . . . you say DUDE a lot and WHOA! You also can become a lazy bum living off my and other honest americans tax dollars! Women become slutty as well and drop their standards considerably as they will screw any punk loser guy who can get them some weed. You also tend to stop being as hygienic. I'm not a weed smoker and never have been. . . these are just observations I've made of some of them around me. You also buy a lot of pop tarts at the grocery store.

Anytime you are inhaling smoke and chemicals into your lungs, there is a potential for a negative side effect. Smoking anything is bad for you.

Oh...smoking pot is not good at all. It can damage your reproductive organs, it can cause severe neurological disorders, and raises your heart beats, which in the future can cause cardiovascular aliments, and it alters your sense of taste and smell. There is alot more that can happen to...just dont smoke that mess, its not worth it. All it dose is cost you money, and kills your body.

Pot smokers end up having a permanent negative attitude. They can never have anything positive to say until they quit.

it's NOT addictive. not physically addictive. maybe if you are weak-minded you need it a lot. it will never be legal because the drug companies won't allow it. think of all the prescriptions that would never be written if it was legal. no sleeping pills, nerve pills, muscle relaxers and so on and so on.

Besides the fact that it is illegal and getting caught with it is inevitable, it also kills your brain cells, ruins your lungs, impairs your judgment, and is a gateway drug... meaning that it will eventually lead you to harder drugs. There is nothing good about it, and it's really not worth the risk of getting caught.
