Is there a way to recieve a stronger signal,in my area.there are many open networks in my area.?

THE AREA I LIVE IN HAS SEVERAL OPEN NETWORKS.I HAVE A LINKSYS WIRELESS G W\SPEEDBOOSTER.ALL OF THE SIGNALS HAVE 1BAR WHICH IS VERY WEAK.THE SIGNAL OFTEN DROPS OR BECOMES VERY SLOW.IS THERE ANYWAY TO MAKE THE SIGNAL STRONGER.MAYBE ITS THE WAY I HAVE MY NETWORK CARD CONFIGERED, OR MAYBE THERES AN ATTENA I COULD PURCHASE TO MAKE IT STRONGER?

Try getting an external antenna. If your wi-fi doesn't have connectors for an external antenna, get one that does.
