I wouldn't. Having been a sufferer of both for many years when I was newly-wed I know that sex makes it much much worse.

The Cystitis (UTI - urinary tract infection), was more than likely caused by bacteria being massaged up through your urethra by the motion of sex. Once there it latches onto the bladder lining and starts to multiply.

Now with the thrush, like someone mentioned, it's possible for you and your partner to both have the yeast infection. Your new Hubby probably won't have any symptoms, but as fast as you treat it in your own body, he'll pass it right back to you as soon as you have sex!

So, no nookie, get down to the Dr just to rule out any other causes for your symptoms, and then drink LOTS of water and natural unsweetened cranberry juice to flush out the bacteria and get some Clotrimazole cream and put it on both you and your Hubby.

Once everything's cleared up then you can go back to your newly-wedded business!

Wishing you lots of luck!

No..no..no!

Having sex will exacerbate the infections, and you can give your husband both infections as well.

When I first was married I started having yeast infections all the time. The doctor told me I was having a bad reaction to semen, and that this is quite common in newlyweds. We decided to use condoms for a while to give my body a chance to heal and build a resistance. As for the UTI/bladder infection, taking cranberry tablets or drinking cranberry juice will help prevent and take the edge off of these if and when you have them. A good way to avoid them is to pee right after you have sex. It's not very romantic, but it beats having a UTI, which as you know is terrible.

It's probably not the best of ideas..most doctors recomend it, yeast infections are contagions, and can spread to other parts of your body...plus it's going to be uncomfortable for you...your best bet is really just to wait, i know it's hard, i got a yeast infection right after getting married too..

It's going to hurt like hell if you do, and you will probably pass the yeast on to your husband and make your bladder infection worse. Keep it in your pants until you have been treated and are all healthy again.

To get the full benefit of the yeast infection treatment (If you are using anything) it would be better to wait until after your last day of treatment. Also, using condoms and diaphragms, for birth control or prevention of certain sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), while undergoing treatment is not recommended as the ingredients in various products can weaken latex.

I actually had this problem before, and personally, I didn't WANT to have sex, too uncomfortable. But the dr. told me that men can get yeast infections too, not sure if he was just trying to get from not having sex until it cleared up, but we weren't going to try it.

Yes you should use a condom though...the yeast infection could cause a rash or something similar on his penis...but if you use a condom you should be ok
