They sleep a lot, like newborns do, but are awake as well. I think they can open there eyes once they get to the last couple of months.

If you want to SEE a picture of a baby with it's eyes open inside the womb, Go to babyzone.com and look for the ultrasound pictures. You will definately find one. Yes they do sleep most of the day and you may even come to believe that your child has it's days and nights mixed up because they become a little more active at night when you sleep than during the day. Reason for that is the movement of your body rocks the baby during the day and when you sleep, your body has no way of naturally calming the baby. So yes, they can open their eyes and they do sleep most of the day.

Yes, they open their eyes in the womb. No, they dont sleep all day. There are periods of time a day when they are active, and periods of time when they do sleep. You'll begin to notice that they are moving around and kicking about the same time every day. My son loved to kick and do flips at the time I was going to bed and kept me awake.

Yes they do open their eyes in the womb. We had a 27 week 4-D ultrasound done and my daughter kept opening and closing their eyes. They say they do sleep alot, but do have periods where they are awake and bouncing around. That explains the hellacious kicks that come about later in pregnancy.

the two! while toddlers are asleep contained in the womb the jerky movements are incredibly reflexes. At 6 mos they are nonetheless small and surrounded by the amniotic fluid, they have greater than a number of room to coach karate kicks for awhile, until they get bigger and start to expire of area.

Nope, they don't sleep all day. My little guy was awake what seemed like all the time. He was always rolling and kicking and elbowing me.

Yes they sure do! I have an ultrasound picture of my son with his eyes open. They do sleep a lot too. They also swallow the aminic fluid they are in which can sometimes cause the hiccups!
Miracle of life!
