The answer to your problem or the end of a long drawn out task, depends on how you use the metaphor. But for a lot a people it does mean a train because the moment you complete one task there is another on right behind it.

Well, it just depends. Are you dead? Then go into the light and don't come back. Are you living? Then check and see if there is train coming, if there is, run back from where you came.
