You should hold down the 'ctrl' button, and scroll upwards or downwards, depending what way you want to change your text size.
If you don't have a scrollwheel, try checking the options of your Internet Browser.

Yahoo is full of tricks. To untrick your problem do a
Ctr- for each size smaller (Ctr+ for larger).
p.s. you probably touched Ctr while scrolling down.
