You are going about it ALL wrong. Trust me on this. Call ALL of the temp agencies in your area in GA. Pretend to be an employer and ask questions like -

"How do you screen potential employees?"

"Do you drug test?"

"What do you look for?"

Some will say - "We check into backgrounds up to 20 years."

Some will say - "We go back 7 years."

Some will say - "We check this county only."

Some will say - "We only drug test."

Some will say - "No drug test or background....we simply do a profile online and see how they do."

Then.....when you make a list of all of the companies that you will qualify for....apply to ALL of them. You will be hired within a week. Then work SUPER DUPER HARD. Come in early. Stay late. Never complain. You will be promoted from within and NO ONE has to know anything about your past. That's how you do it!!!!!!

Once you are a convicted Felon that means your a criminal and it stays with you for life. There is escape from Jail and Prison...but not Felony Raps.

Now to answer your question; Th job they apply for will not scan their background all the time. It depends on what job you are applying for. Several Employers are now adopting background checks more and more than ever.
It is a luck of the draw.
I know a guy that is a convicted Felon and he works as a mechanic and makes good money at a Car dealership.
So the luck of the draw is what that person does in order to achieve success after being Convicted...Convicted..Convicted...sounds nasty ..right? because it is!!!
