Porn Up, Rape Down
ANTHONY D'AMATO
Northwestern University - School of Law
June 23, 2006
Northwestern Public Law Research Paper No. 913013
Abstract:
The incidence of rape in the United States has declined 85% in the past 25 years while access to pornography has become freely available to teenagers and adults. The Nixon and Reagan Commissions tried to show that exposure to pornographic materials produced social violence. The reverse may be true: that pornography has reduced social violence.
------------------------------------------
Translation: having porn means those who would commit rape have a release to keep from doing it. Porn doesn't "feed the need" for rape, it lessens it.

It is the suppliers that are manipulating and are ever increasing this to corrupt individuals of society..Like how the media portrays all this..ie freebie porn sites to encourage people, drugs that are available anywhere on the streets, drink-people see this as part of everyday life but cannot see the devastating things in has on a persons life or families-ie alcoholism. Slowly the society is being lured into all this and the society cannot help themselves..people are forgetting religion, death, life after death becasue of the play and amusement of this life..but really these things do not get us anywhere in this life, except temporary happiness and enjoyment, and will neither benefit us for the next life.

Market demand, pure and simple. I think that the users of these items are so bored, lonely or unhappy with their lives that they turn to alternative methods for gratificaiton. As producers increase the supply of the items they become more readily available which may cause those on the edge to dive in.
I think there is a tremendous difference between drugs and legal pornography. Drugs cause debilitating effects on the body, paralyzing addiction and inability to perform in society. Pornography, while addictive, is psychological in nature, not physical. Its effect is the view of women in a negative manner and can lead to the destruction of marriages.

well, if they are all taking drugs and wanking, it keeps them off the streets
also, in reference to the 'porn up, rape down' comment, this was also the case in denmark, one of the first countries to legalise porn, back in the late 60s or early 70s. Back in the days when women has really bushy minges and all men had beards, if old danish porn is anything to go by.
