I had a cush job in the office as his assistant and then he made me take on shifts as a cashier with the monkeys which I hate and I am cranky...yet I feel beholden to him because he bailed me out of jail a couple weeks ago...I am conflicted.

**and yeah, it doesn't go under entertainment, but there isn't a "just venting" category****

Would you be cranky if your boss took away your cush job and wanted you to do stuff you hate to do?

As the "Monkey Boss" let me set the record straight...

Her going to jail had nothing to do with it. Frankly, I knew it was just a matter of time.

It wasn't a "demotion." She's getting more money to do extra duties.

Finally, she's not whining so much as nagging. Nagging only makes me more stubborn; which if you knew me, is really saying something.

Bye!

If you can help it you shouldn't stay mad at your boss...it's just not productive. Besides, bailing you out of jail seems like a pretty nice gesture of his loyalty to you...you wouldn't find the same generosity of other bosses. They would just let you sit in jail and fire you for not showing up to work because of it. Perhaps putting you on the cashier "with the monkeys" is his way of making you repent for your indescretion...but if you approach that position with a good attitude he may move you back to your cush job...especially if you were good at it.

That would be a bummer, but at the same time, he is paying you and if he needs your help elsewhere, than so be it.
And as far as him bailing you out of jail, sounds like an amazing boss. Not too many would do that. Try and stick it out a bit longer and if it really makes you unhappy, let him know you really aren't doing well with the change and see what he has to say. If nothing, change jobs.

you went to jail and she (sorry! shouldnt have assumed it was a man!) bailed you out. you should respect that and be happy that you still HAVE a job.

you are pulling a "poor me" attitude, and if you dont like the job you STILL have, then quit.

I think it's a great thing that she bailed you out in the first place. my boss would be the LAST person I would call from jail.

maybe you have to earn your responsibility (or lack thereof) to gain your previous cush job.

maybe she's embarrased to have you work along beside her depending on why you went to jail.

i know i would be, no matter what the reason for going to jail was..

Be thankful you have a job,and that you got bailed out of jail at all.
It sounds like your boss is giving you a much needed lesson in
humility.

sounds like thats what you need. gettin a bit to spoiled there. anyone that does not have to work hard at anything becomes lazy. lazyness is never attractive in any form. you just sound spoiled and stuck up by the monkey comment. he should of bumped you lower...to the lowest

If I lost a good gig for a bad one I would probably be on my way out. Good jobs with good pay/low responsibility are hard to find. The key is start out working hard & in time you will earn that dream job you are looking for. Believe me, I speak from experience. Never be afraid to get your hands dirty.

It is called "paying for your sins."

Be grateful for the favor...not everyone would bail you out, nor did they, huh?.

Why are everyone "monkeys" to you? Sounds like you got an attitude that needs shedding before you find yourself needing more bail money.

Did you ever think that your attitude just may have something to do with your ''Demotion" ? You seem to think that you are better than the people you now work with. You aren't better because you did just get bailed out of jail didn't you? (: ): Sometimes we do reap what we sow!!

Eat his lunch from the fridge and blame it on the other freaks.

Bailed out of jail, eh? Yeah, basically you're his new *****. Good luck with that.
