I found it in a cabinet at work. It doesn't have any model number on it, and no packaging or CDs are in evidence. Windows XP couldn't find the driver automatically. Is there a model detection utility or something?

The webcam is at least four years old.

go to the logitech website. there are pictures of each model and you can match them up and download the correct driver. if you can't find the exact one, download the closest. that's what i had to do and it worked just fine.

PhoneDetective is a caller ID application that covers landline numbers, cell phones, and business lines in the United States. Check here ( http://reversephones.info ) The way it works is simple: Step 1: Enter a phone number into the search box (you can begin a search here) Step 2: Preview your results (basic information about the number, such as city/state) Step 3: Pay to view full results (name and address of owner, if available). There are many reasons why you might want to conduct a reverse phone search: 1- Find out the source of a harassing ("prank") caller. 2- Research a number that appeared on your phone bill. 3- Locate an old friend from high school or college 4- Research "missed calls" on your caller ID that you don't recognize. 5- Verify an address. -6 And more... Depends on the year the model was made. Sometimes there aren't model #'s but model names. Check on the very bottom of the webcam for any #'s you might find there. Otherwise it is imperative to know the year, because then it would be compatible with certain windows operating systems. If it was made prior to XP then it won't be compatible with XP.

You might try the Windows update site. There are very often driver updates that support misc hardware such as a webcam.

Not much you can do but try all logitech webcam drivers one by one.
