I recently belonged to MGRA (Missouri Gay Rodeo Assoc). I was asking some needed questions from some officers regarding an upcoming rodeo. These officer in turned returned their emails in an angry voice. I think they felt threatened. I returned theirs then they returned mine. The last time around they made personal comments of malicious nature. The comments we completely off the subject matter. Since then I resigned on my own. Yesterday I got yet another email from yet another officer making threats to my well being.

“You have caused more trouble in one year than anybody has in my 18 years with MGRA. And don't mess with me. You'll be sorry. Hit the road cowgirl. The farther the better. “

Charles Hancock
MGRA KC Chapter Treasurer

Does it seem wrong to you that any officer of any benevalant /non-profit organization be allowed to speak to anyone like this?

A couple details. One no matter the subject matter I felt I was right, and so did they. I kept my correspondence proffesional, and did not attak any of these officers on a personal matter.

Second, I have served at the Secretary fro KGRA (Kansas Gay Rodeo) and as thier spokesperson Mr. KGRA 2005.

Cowboy, I've been reading your blogs on the subject and feel that you were wronged by the officers. In addition; any person heading an organization as an officers has above duties and responsibilities to show good character. Threatening someones life; or promising to do harm, is a very bad reflection on the group. Perhaps, there exist guidelines for having such a person removed. Stand your ground and find a different organization to affiliate yourself with; that's rewarding.

Without seeing the entire correspondence I can not make a judgment one way or the other but I respect your opinion on the matter and I don't think that the situation you described was very professional or could further their organizations agenda very effectively. I am not familiar with the gay rodeo but I like rodeos I used to ride horses I know what your resignation must have meant to you and I am sorry this happened to you.
Good luck in your career.

Hey Cowboy,

No matter what happened and since this IS an organization of sorts, they should have handled it in a MORE mature and professional manner. ANY person that is related to this place and/or works there should be able to handle any problems with outmost mannerism. IF they continue to e-mail you in such manner, I would suggest you either find a way to get in touch with the "big boss" or find a good lawyer that will be able to take your case and handle this organization for not taking care of people such as this guy that wrote the email to you.

Best of luck, mate.

You should direct all those correspondance to the Head of the Chapter as well as those dealing with Non-Profit Org. in your area. Things of that sort should NOT be tolerated. If you can't get any Help that way...Speak to your local chapter of the ACLU or the local News Channels... There are ways to deal with people like that. Good Luck.

Since I don't know exactly what you said, I can't "be the judge", however, this does seem out of line from someone working in an official capacity-even if you were rude first(that is NOT what I'm saying!) they have a responsibility to reply politely and in a professional manner. What was said was neither. Is there any one else you can submit a complaint to?

That DOES eem wrong. I'm not sure what context they were e-mailing you in....I don't know if you in any way were offensive to them. there are always two sides to every story, and since we don't have thiers.......there is not enough evidence to base a conclusion, other than to say that thier e-mail was not professional in nature, so.........having said that, I would not join this organization if you feel like the attacks were personal, since the people representing it were acting in an unprofessional way.

I can really say cos i dont know how your email sounded but i dont imagine they contained any malice. I think that anyone who works on a business basis such as this should not treat someone in the way you were treated , its just plain mean. There must be some way to get this reported , if you can you should .

I felt the comparable way and extensively utilized the be conscious Jewish somewhat than Jew until I grew to become in contact contained in the Jewish community. It became the style of breath of unpolluted air to apply the be conscious Jew as a favorable and devoid of soreness. i became quickly waiting for the day i ought to call myself a Jew! BTW, i've got met many Christians who use the be conscious Hebrew somewhat than Jew. That made me bring about my tracks for a 2nd because i wouldn't in any respect theory-approximately Hebrew as being a guy or woman, purely as a language. After some theory, i desperate it could desire to be because of the fact the NT makes use of Hebrew while talking of Jews in a favorable way and Jew in a derogatory way. Reform Jew by decision .

Unfortunately, my Dear, I would have to see the entire set of emails to actually get the gist of the whole debacle into context. It's very hard to make a decision from a few sentences and it's actually wrong of you to ask us to. It's far to easy to take something out of context. I wish you well.

I don't know what you said that ticked them off, but I bet you aren't exactly sporting a halo on this one. Not knowing either of you I'm siding with Hancock--he didn't get where he was by being an a--hole all the time. Check your own history of social adjustment, or maladjustment.
