The first world war was between England and Germany it was mostly fought in France, and the Flanders Belguim. OK (1914-1916)

Germany was fighting France, England, and eventually the USA. Russia was in on this fight too but had the revolution starting at the same time. Turkey was also allied with Germany.

I believe it was the Austria-Hungary {Also called the Austro-Hungarian Empire, if I'm not mistaken}, the Ottoman Empire, and Germany on one side, and on the other Great Britain, France, and Russia, later the US joined their side as well. {After the sinking of the Lusitania (sp?)}
