It's supposed to be wonderful for your skin - just wanted to know if anyone had had a positive experience of this.

I never heard of Yasmin being great for your skin. I've been on it for almost 5 years. It's shortened my cycle, and made it a much lighter flow. Before, I'd start on Thursday and end Tuesday, and usually needed super absorbancy tampons. Now it starts Friday and is usually gone by Monday, and I only need regular or lite absorbancy now.

I had negative.

I hate hormonal birth control to begin with given it's effect on the body both in terms of known side-effects, un-discussed side-effects such as nesting (which I am sure was also something I had while on Yasmin) and also messing up menstrual cycles. When I was younger I didn't know of other options and my GP did not inform me, so used the pill regardless. As is the case for a lot of people unfortunately.

Yasmin in particular caused one major problem for me – IBS-D – women are more prone to irritable bowel because of the hormones in the body, Yasmin seems to greatly increase IBS symptoms and even bring on IBS.
I didn't suffer from IBS in the past, but on Yasmin I would get up in the morning and have literally five minutes before having to rush to the bathroom with the runs, scared to go to work because there were no toilets in between home and work in case I had an 'accident', and had bad stomach cramps that ruined many a night out.
As soon as I came off Yasmin and started using FAM I was fine, haven't had a problem since – my doctor had no idea of this side-effect, but from my own research I found a lot of women have similar problems on Yasmin.

the downside of any pill is, that your body thinks it is pregnant all the time. that is quite a hazzle for the body....
rethink it.
