My boyfriend and I are planning to go to Thailand for our 1 year anniversary. I was born there, but haven't been there for a long time, so many things have changed since I was little. We will be visiting alot of family around Thailand.I was wondering if there was any places that you guys suggest we visit, with our limited time there.

I would say there is no reason to worry about your relationship as long as it is good to begin with. It doesn't matter where you go, if there is a problem, there will be a problem.
I recommend you to plot the locations where you have to visit your friends and relatives, so you don't have to waste time going back and forth in all directions.
In Bangkok, stay close to Chao Praya River for the view, etc.
Visit the Royal Grand Palace, Jatoojak Flea Market, Floating market, Rose Garden and Dinner-Cultural Show.
If you have time or have to visit somewhere close to these areas such as Chiang Mai and Phuket or Samui and Krabi, then I would plan to stop by these areas.
Chiang Mai is worth it because it still has the traditional old Thai town flavor. Beaches in Thailand are in general pretty with of course great sea food.
A visit to Ayudayah might be interesting to you especially via a cruise from Bangkok.
See some pictures below.
You will have a great time, especially if you go around X-mas and New Year when it is not too hot.

you should go there with an engagement ring on your hand, or better yet get married first...he might have good reason to change his mind about you after going there and seeing what he is missing!

People say taking your girlfriend or wife to Thailand is like taking a sandwich to a buffet!

I hope for your sake I am wrong.

My gf is from Thailand and we visited last winter. My favorite places were the various wat's (Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaeo being my favorite) and that marketplace where everyone is in a boat. So cool!
