I always felt that without Napster which let to the creation of P2P the Internet would be a less attractive place to be i mean without free music and movies would you spend so much time on the internet

Yeah, Napster was great, at least the original one was. You should thank Metallica for not having it anymore. May they all fall butt fist on their instruments.

Porn is the greatest thing that ever happened to the internet. Most of the new technology you see and use while playing on the internet was developed first as a means to market and sell pornography. Napster wasn't the first file sharing network on the internet; it would be hard to track down what was, but I'll let you guess what was traded back and forth on it.
I think you'll find that for every wildly popular innovation that gets credit for being "the first", there was a less popular one that came before it that only a few people knew about.

Theres no such thing as a free lunch.File sharing is inevitably dangerous because of spyware,malware,viruses ect.Its a trade off.Don't know much about or how safe Napster is,but Morpheus is a bastard for spyware,as when you install it,you install another program called P2P Networking.You agree to this in the license agreement,but who reads that anyway?This is like a mothership for spyware,but you takes the risk anyway.
I've learned the hard way about P2P and I won't go there again.

I dont know about that, but if it wasn't for napster who would have brought around the whole online music revolution?
Would we be downloading songs today?
Would we all have iPods? Would we even use computers as much?
It definately is one of the main factors in the growth of the internet and computer / consumer electronic usage as far as I can see.
