No,I think the her parents are just happy that she is doing something with her life other than being a druggie.And they being rich are probably around circle of friends whose kids are doing worse things.

My parents would have disowned me long ago.
On one hand, I hope they counsel her to live differently for her own sake. On the other, I hope they love her no matter what crazy thing she does, simply because she is their daughter.

of course they are ashamed, but she is grown so they can no longer control her. They did not even come to bail her out of jail, her sis did.
