I keep getting calls on my cell that come up private and it's starting to freak me out. People saying weird things and making weird noises. I don't want to change my number, but I don't know what else to do. Could someone please help? Thanks.

You have a couple options depending on who your service provider is. You can have them add a feature to your line to block anonymous calls. Or you can ask them if malicious call trace is active on your phone. If it is, ask them how to activate it (usually it is by dialing *57) ... then you can make a complaint to the police then will trace the malicious call for you and deal with the perpetrator. Or, simply quit answering calls from unknown people.

If you receive a nuisance, threatening, malicious or obscene phone call -- first, hang up for more than 2 seconds. Then pick up the phone, get a dial tone and dial the Call Trace Code (*57). A recorded announcement will inform you whether the last call to your phone was successfully traced (most calls can be traced).

well u seem to be facing the same problem as i was a week ago....

for ur information annoymous calls are made in 2 ways...either the call is being made by some STD/PCO or some service providers give this function of hiding their number (in other words making it private)...

well there are 3 ways of tackling this problem..

1. by ur handset : there is a function in certain handsets to block calls from a specific group or a specific group of numbers..since this is a highly handset specific option, this option not work for u..

2. via service provider : u can simply contact ur service provider about this problem and they might help u with it..or u can try the 3rd option..

3. Simply dont answer annoymous calls...

hope this was useful for u..

if it was then dont forget to mark mine as the best answer..hehe..
enjoy..

your phone company should have the number of the person who called you. it only blocks the caller id, the phone company still needs to know the number of the person calling as evidence for crimes that get commited, or otherwise.

Your phone company probably will charge you a fee, but it might be worth it if it happens all the time.

Call the cell phone company tell them you want to add a feature that makes people unblock their phone everytime they call you or they can't reach you. People thought this was only for landlines but it in fact works for cell phones as well.

Talk to your phone company immediately. You can make it so you don't accept blocked calls. Good luck

Try contacting your service provider to see what they suggest. You may just have to change your number.
