Some guy who instant messaged me a few times just sent me another I.M. and said he's on a laptop at a park , which is across the street from my house! Thats all he said and I didn't answer the message, but it's kinda creepy. I have 3 dogs and they're very protective so I'm not really scared but would you be?

o.k. heres a few more details. He I.M.ed me a few times I NEVER ANSWERED! He said in one he lived near by. He said in another Where is the town you live. The park by my house is very large , you can't see the whole thing from my house. And what would I tell the police? Some guy says at the park? Big Deal what are they going to do about that? And At least on his profile it does have a picture. And I just told my neighboors about it so they'll let me know if they see anything. All of our neighboors are cool and we're all close and talk all the time, we always look out for each other so , I'm not so much scared as I'am just creeped out!

That is pretty creepy. Do you think someone is playing a joke on you? Write down his screen name, just in case you need to do something with it later (report him, if he keeps bothering you). Look outside your window and see if you see someone on a lap top. Be alert when you leave the house, and just be aware of your surroundings. Take mace with you as well.
I hope everything turns out OK. Hopefully it is just a really sick and mean joke that someone you know is playing on you- but don't assume it is not serious either.

**ADDED**
I was just saying to keep his screen name handy, JUST IN CASE something does happen (letters on your door, someone approaches you)....that way you won't be like "Some guy imed me, but i don't know his name....he said he was in the park by my house"....cause if you have his screen name atleast you have something. Good job telling your neighbors too! Does your profile say where you live? In what city? Cause if it is a big city and the guy is just trying to make conversation with someone in the area, it may be a huge coencidence. I'm not trying to scare you even more, but personally, I'D RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY!

"Some guy?" Are you saying that you don't really know this man - just through IM?

If that's the case, definitely be creeped out and, if possible, save the messages. Do screen prints if you can't save the messages some other way. Tell "some guy" to stop sending you messages. Do not give a reason. Just tell him you're not interested in communicating anymore. If he sends another message, call the police.

Weirdos like this know how to get around a few dogs. Plus, you don't take them with you every time you leave, do you? This guy could just be an idiot with no social skills or etiquette, but he could also be a freak. Stay away just in case.

I'm thinking that he's just trying to make you paranoid.

If you really are scared, call the police. Or you can just look out your window and see if there really is a guy with a laptop sitting in the park. Does your area have wi-fi? If not, how could he be on the internet in the park?

Sounds like a stalker... if he actually named the park correctly it's time to get the police involved.

It might be someone messing with you, but to be on the safe side, you should save those messages and contact the local police department.

I wouldn't be afraid because for all you know it could be a friend or someone who knows you playing a prank on you. If the guy Im's you again try changing your IM account and be careful who you give your IM adress too.
Hopes this helps

Call the cops if he gets closer. Also, ignore any IM's for a while.
