I used to live in Roslin and got married in the chapel 2 years ago. It has now become even more famous because of the release of The Da vinci Code.

Its a nice place but the hype it got because of a small mention in the film is over rated. plus they missed out a lot of the history regarding the designs and carvings. These Templar guys were something else when it came to travel and discovery

Yes, I've been a couple of times, as I live about halfway between Roslin and Edinburgh. It is better to charge people for entrance (except for services) and use the money to keep it in good repair. Just asking for voluntary donations would not get enough.

I went a few months ago. I had wanted to go for about 6 or 7 years, and wish I had gone earlier as it is now quite busy thanks to that silly book. I was also surprised that the souvenir shop of a *Christian* church would be selling copies of a book claiming the church is all based on a lie. I asked the clerk about this and his view seemed to be that it was just a nice old building and its intended purpose was irrelevant. Aside from that we liked it a lot.

Yes, a few weeks ago, also about 18 months ago, sad to see that they've got greedy and doubled the admission price to £7.00, in fact it used to be free. You can still get in free if you attend a service.
