It all depends on how you define what "better" really means. They are completely different cars designed for completely different purpose in mind.
The one you like better is the better car for you.

ya 3am hamed ana ha2ollak bas bel english! the hp in bmw is higher with 14 hp (according to u.s highway) but mercedes sound system is surely better. i am a mercedes customer and i really love their cars. and remember the market bmw in arabian countries would loose its price but mercedes will not. specially in egypt, libya.and remember it is the most well known presidental car........ salam ya hamed

Any BMW is better than any Benz...
Unless you get a BMW that's made in the US. I can't even figure out why BMW would allow their cars to be made by these redneck middle school drop outs.
So, in the US or Canada, make sure you get one built in Germany or buy a Benz.
If you live anywhere between Europe and Japan, then it's a safe bet that you'll get a BMW made in Germany and it'll be better than a Benz.
Around here, ppl that drive Benz's are either old business ppl that need to look conservative but well off, or they're owned by ppl that live in trashy little houses and don't really have anything except a Benz to impress ppl they don't even know.
